There are many trips in and around Perth, some are completed
within one day, but most are better taken over several days. The
visitor to Western Australia will remark upon its size. It spans
over 2.5 million square kilometres--1 million square miles.
Bordered largely by desert to the east, Western Australia is
bound by 12,500. kilometres (7,813 miles) of the world's most
pristine coastline to the west. The

distances between services in the North of the states, and the
relatively small population, it is advisable that newcomers to
the State of Western Australia undertake trips of any distance

Nambung
National Park (Pinnacles Desert) -- In the Pinnacles Desert,
right in the heart of Nambung National Park, thousands of huge
limestone pillars rise out of a stark landscape of yellow sand.
In places they reach up to three and a half metres tall. Some
are jagged, sharp-edged columns, rising to a point; while others
resemble tombstones.
New Norcia -- Australia's
only monastic town.
Rottnest
-- The Island is an A Class Reserve enjoying a semi-arid Mediterranean
style climate. It is 11km long and 4.5km at its widest point and
is situated just 30 minutes by ferry from Fremantle, or 15 minutes
by plane from Perth.
Swan Valley
-- Located just 20 minutes from the heart of Perth is the Swan
Valley, Western Australia's oldest wine growing region. It is
a compact area of award-winning wineries, restaurants, galleries,
accommodation venues and other tourist attractions, making it
an ideal day trip destination for any visitor to Western Australia.
York --Founded in 1831
on the banks of the Avon River, it was the first inland European
settlement in WA.

Pemberton
-- Pemberton is located 335kms south of Perth via South West Highway
and Vasse Highway. It is about an hour and a half drive from Margaret
River, Busselton, Walpole/Nornalup and the Valley of the Giants
and only two hours from Bunbury.
Margaret River
-- This charming holiday destination, only 290km south of Perth,

Albany
--Albany can be found 409 kms South East of Perth on the South
Coast of Western Australia - overlooking the Southern Ocean. 35
degrees latitude South of the Equator - 118 degrees longitude
East of Greenwich.

Kalgoorlie
--Kalgoorlie-Boulder is the mining capital of Australia, famous
for it's goldrush past. The city boasts a variety of quality accommodation,

Kalbarri Kalbarri
is strategically located on the coast at the mouth of the Murchison
River - mid way between Western Australia's capital city, Perth,
and the popular holiday destination of Monkey Mia. Nearby is the
Kalbarri
National Park, covering over 183,00 hectares.
Monkey Mia The Monkey
Mia Dolphin Resort is located on a unique section of World Heritage
coastline - only 24 km from the town of Denham. Those with a love
of nature will delight at the huge variety of mammal and bird
life, native flora and fauna, such as the Dugong. Over 10,000
of these sea dwelling mammals live in the protection of the Shark
Bay Marine Nature Reserve.

Exmouth
- Nestling in the Exmouth Gulf by the North West Cape it is the
closest sports fishing harbour in Australia to the Continental
Shelf . This is a great advantage - the Shelf explains the abundance
of fish and marine life in the surrounding waters.
The area also provides ideal underwater diving for the experienced
diver and there is also good surfing on Surfers Beach, 17 kilometres
from the town. There is a wide variety of safari tours exploring
the drama and grandeur of the coastline and the hinterland, and,
in common with the North West coast, there are many beautiful
safe bathing and fishing beaches.
